“Currently Looking for new Bass Player”=status on their Facebook “About Us” page
Go to the band’s website. At the top of the page is a music player. If you didn’t know it was there you might miss it. Listen to it. I dare ya. You might think, ‘who the fuck are these fuckers?’
Hailing from Topeka, KS, this three man band has a no bullshit sound that is reminiscent of Clutch meets Black Sabbath meets Sleep meets that unique sound quality that is The Midnight Ghost Train. Who really cares who a band sounds like? Either they have a unique quality that sets them aside or they do not. The Midnight Ghost Train is as refreshing as it is heavy. Ohhh, did I mention that they are explosively tight? I didn’t? Okay yeah, I just did.
They came to Austin, supporting their latest release “Buffalo”
They were here during SXSW 2012. They play here about twice a year, often with Sabbath Crow. If you are looking online or reading through another weekly magazine and you see the name “The Midnight Ghost Train” and you wonder to yourself, ‘should I go out and listen to some heavy Delta Blues kinda rock n roll?’ The answer should always be: Yes.
