The Prison Art of Richie ‘Devil Chicken’ Turner
It’s been just over a year since the Agony Column reunion show, the fitting end to the Emo’s Red River location. At the time Richie ‘Devil Chicken” Turner was once again living here in River City. But he was on borrowed time, as usual trying to stay one step ahead of his snakebit luck. And while he had a glorious six months or so seeing old friends and cohorts things did eventually catch up with him…again. That whole story is one of those things that could only happen to Richie. It’s full of life on an Indian reservation, high speed chases and hitchhiking across the desert in the middle of the night. But all of that is a story best told by Richie himself and here at Rank and Revue we’re hoping one day he’ll decide to do just that. In the meantime he has been sending us art work that he has been killing time with while locked up at various locations. Some of these were done at the High Desert Facility, same unit as O.J.Simpson, the others were done at the Super Max where he has somehow ended up. Last word is he hopes to be out by his birthday on January 1st, the best possible gift. For those wasting time on Facebook his contact info is posted to his page, but by the time this is printed we all hope it is out of date and he’s breathing free air once again. Until then these drawings are Richie’s communication to us all, genius arises on many planes sometimes.
