The
“Don Juan” Breakfast Taco at Juan in a Million
One
may make the mistake of thinking that I am writing about the “Don
Juan” breakfast taco because Juan in a Million is one of our
advertisers, not because I go there constantly in my quest for rock
and roll sustenance. On the contrary, Juan in a Million is one of
our advertisers because I’m in the place so often; I have
delusions that I am Juan Meza’s son. By making a point to
shake the hand of every customer in his restaurant, Juan has not
only taken an old rule of business to extremes, but has created
an atmosphere of friendliness and comfort in his restaurant that
cannot be found anywhere else in town. You could argue that the
good vibes Juan in a Million exudes out to the surrounding community
are more important to the food served there. Nonetheless, the $2.75
“Don Juan” breakfast taco, gargantuan in size, is an
absolute must for rockers throughout Austin. With a secret mixture
of eggs, potatoes, bacon and cheese, Juan in a Million has created
the consummate breakfast and/or late lunch. Not only is this truly
a cure for the after-party blahs (perhaps the potatoes soaking up
toxins in the bloodstream?), but the taco itself is large enough
to tide any partier over until late that evening, when the vicious
cycle begins again. |
