This full length release from Seattle, Washington’s Load Levelers is a straight ahead trip down a country road at break neck speed. No frills here, no gimmicks just good rock and roll played with passion and high octane energy. The CD is called “America…Fuck Yeah!!”  on Splatterhouse Wreckcords out of Tacoma, Washington.

Johnny Wooten and Kurt Colfelt

“America…”  has more hairpin turns, high speed straightaways and gravel spitting ditties to certify it as a fast track, or a backwoods bootlegger’s run. Fifteen stops on a road map of cars, drugs, women, animal husbandry, domestic violence and general redneck debauchery.

This ain’t no one trick rented mule, though. The Levelers can pick and grin a chaw spitting country ballad or two.  “Oxblood and Salt” and their cover of Slit Lip Rayfield’s  “3.2 Flu”  bring it down a notch and prove you don’t have to be from Texas to rock the “swing”.  The opening track is an homage and declaration  of love for a certain metal beast known as the “Hudson Hornet”.
Noa Mahoney and Tim Aynardi

Noa Mahoney’s drums are the relentless pistons that fire up this hootenanny engine. Tim  Aynardi “The Undertaker” provides the bass fiddle punch and pop that keep your pulse up high.

(l to r) Noa Mahoney, Michelle Thurston, Johnny Wooten, Kurt Colfelt and Tim Aynardi

Guitars and vocals from Kurt Colfelt and Johnny “Smokes” Wooten put the piss in this blend of white lightning lemonade. And the backing vocals from Michelle Thurston are a sweet dash of fresh honey. Nothing is off limits with the Load Levelers , not porcine porn fueled by Rohypnol and Texas crank in “Hogfucker” , or the dejected self-abusive love affair of one man , his fist and a little spit in “East Texas Love Kit”.
They even tackle some James Gang with their cover of “Walk Away”. This CD represents the best things about American living , from the hillbilly music, to the raging blues, from country swing to.. awww …..HELL , this is ROCK AND ROLL !! Sped up and fed up with anybody that tries to tell ’em where to shoot their guns, work on their cars or grow their shit. Punk Rock no bullshit approach to American living , GOOD~BAD~ and UGLY. The way it should be. This writer says:                 The Load Levelers…. FUCK YEAH !!!
